revised GRE average and minimum scores of Universities
- The US Universities publish a statistics report which includes the number of students applied and admitted for higher education, average GRE scores for various departments. The above list is compiled using the statistics published by the mentioned US Universities.
- Many of the US Universities provide minimum revised GRE Quantitative scores for graduate admissions. If you have revised GRE scores less than the required GRE cut-offs of US Universities, your application will be rejected.
- In general, if you have revised GRE score of 314 or more and revised GRE Quantitative score of 161 or more, you will have crossed the minimum score requirement of almost all the major Universities in US.
- If you have revised GRE scores higher than the minimum revised GRE scores provided by the Universities, but less than the average revised GRE scores of the same Universities, your chances of admission are very less.
- A lot of Universities do not have any cut-offs for Verbal section of GRE, especially for engineering programs. Having said that, getting a low Verbal score will not help your chances for admission in that University.
- Most of the Universities do no put any criteria on the minimum revised GRE scores for Verbal as well as Quantitative sections. Your entire profile including your undergraduate grades, recommendation letters, statement of purpose, work experience, your awards, research activities and other achievements have equal importance.
- Minimum and average revised GRE scores of the US Universities vary from department to department. Some of the departments might require a high revised GRE score compared to other departments. Some degree programs might not have any revised GRE cut-off. Applicants are advised to check the department requirements of the Universities for GRE scores before applying
- A few Universities in US do not have the requirement of GRE. If your revised GRE score is less and does not meet the minimum requirements of the Universities, you can consider applying to such Universities.
